“MOMENTS” is my third painting also serving as a diptych which is based off my first iPad Procreate digital painting; “Cacti Pinch”. Which sold for 3 eth ($10,000) right after my digital genesis piece; “Canyon Visions” sold for 20 eth ($66,485) in Summer of 2021.

My digital piece; “Cacti Pinch” inspired me to also create a similar artwork like it but with using physical paint instead on large canvas. These particular canvases which are each 36x48 inches I built, hand-stretched and gessoed. These two paintings not only represent the energies of the masculine and the feminine energy of our world, but the harmony and discord of them as well as “moments” (hence the name), when we each realize something very important in the life-changing moment especially together as couples.

As with all of my paintings the pieces are filled with allegory and symbolisms including easter eggs, hits and nods to things I’m interested in like my continual fascination, wonderment and inspiration with Alice In Wonderland as well as nods to master artists like Van Gogh an Dalí. I wanted this overall painting to be exactly what it is; A surrealist and stylistic psychedelic narrative continuation from my second painting; “St. Alice of Portland II”, which keeps the vibrant look of pastel-ish psychedelic colors (inspired and continued from my digital art under my moniker “Showdeer”), representing moments of psychedelic rapture in this very important time of realizing important epiphanies while the world goes through changes.

This piece was featured at Art Basel 2023.

Also this painting is probably my last ever acrylic painting as I have fallen in love with painting in oils.
